Friday & Saturday at 8:00pm

Sunday at 3:00pm

Additional Saturday matinee 3:00pm on August 29th

Call time is one hour prior to curtain

One of the darkest musicals ever written, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is the unsettling tale of a Victorian-era barber who returns home to London after fifteen years of exile to take revenge on the corrupt judge who ruined his life. When revenge eludes him, Sweeney swears vengeance on the entire human race, murdering as many people as he can, while his business associate Mrs. Lovett bakes the bodies into meat pies and sells them to the unsuspecting public.

  • Rehearsals will start at around the end of June

    Mon  – Thurs 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm, Saturdays 12:00 pm-3:00 pm, and Sundays 6:00 pm -9:00 pm. Not all actors are called to every rehearsal.

  • Mandatory Tech Week

CASTING:

All Roles Available

  • Sweeney Todd – A wrongfully imprisoned barber seeking to right the wrongs committed against him. He is Johanna’s father, singularly focused on taking bloody revenge. The story’s tormented protagonist. Gender: Male  Age: 40–55  Vocal Range: F2–Gb4
  • Mrs. Lovett – An entrepreneurial and amoral meat pie shop owner. She falls in love with Todd and turns his desire for revenge into a profitable business venture. Gender: Female Age: 35–50 Vocal Range: G3–E5
  • Anthony Hope – A naive and youthful sailor returning to London. He helps Todd return to London and unexpectedly falls in love with Johanna. Gender: Male  Age: 20–30 Vocal Range: Bb2–F4 
  • Johanna – A spritely girl, full of innocence, constantly yearning for freedom. Todd’s long-lost daughter and Turpin’s ward. Gender: Female Age: 18–21 Vocal Range: Bb3–A5 
  • Tobias (Tobi) Ragg – A poor youngster apprenticed to Pirelli. He finds a surrogate family in Todd and Lovett. Gender: Male Age: 12–18 Vocal Range: Bb2–Ab4 
  • Judge Turpin – A lecherous public official who portrays himself as a sanctimonious authoritarian. He takes advantage of his position in the city and is responsible for imprisoning Todd. Gender: Male Age: 50–65 Vocal Range: E2–Gb4 
  • The Beadle – A pompous public official deeply loyal to the corrupt Turpin. Gender: Male Age: 40–55 Vocal Range: D3–D5
  • Beggar Woman – A deranged and schizophrenic woman who harbors a dark, surprising secret. Gender: Female Age: 35–50 Vocal Range: Ab3–F5 
  • Adolfo Pirelli – A flamboyant Italian rival barber; a charlatan with a secret past. Gender: Male Age: 30–45 Vocal Range: B2–C5 
  • Jonas Fogg – The owner of Fogg’s Asylum. He sells the hair of madmen to wigmakers. Gender: Male Age: 35–60  
  • Ensemble – Townspeople, policemen, and lunatics. Various ages and vocal ranges. 

For auditions, please prepare the following:

* Schedule an appointment 

* Bring a current head shot and resume  

* Prepare a song in the style of the show approximately 32 bars – an accompanist will be provided

* Fill out an audition form that will be provided at the door

Please be able to list all conflicts between June 15 & opening night.
