Someone will confirm your audition time.

Auditions will take place at OSA – 3041 North Decatur Road, Scottdale, GA 30079.

Run Dates of Show:

June 5 – 21, 2026

Performances are:

Friday & Saturday at 8:00pm

Sunday at 3:00pm

Additional Saturday matinee 3:00pm on June 20th

Call time is one hour prior to curtain

Can rivaling sisters A comedy about books and the people who love them. When the members of a devoted book club become the subjects of a documentary filmmaker, their intimate discussions of life and literature take on new meaning with the camera rolling. Add in the unexpected arrival of a provocative new member and the sudden inclusion of some questionable titles, and long-standing group dynamics take a hilarious turn

  • Rehearsals will be Saturdays 12pm – 4pm, Sundays 3pm – 6pm,

    Monday 7pm – 10 pm, and Thursdays 7pm-10:00pm.

  • Mandatory Tech Week

CASTING:

Casting: 3 Men, 3 Women + 1 Any

ANA SMITH (w): mid 30s – mid 40s. Pronounced “Ah-nuh.” Beautiful. Charming. Smart. Accomplished. Organized. A columnist for a daily paper. The “Mother Bee.” Her grace masks a need to control.

ROBERT NOVUM SMITH JR (m):mid 30s – mid 40s. ANAs’ golden-boy, handsome, charismatic, underachiever husband who is starting to search for meaning. Met in college. Upper-crust background.

WILLIAM LEE NOTHNAGEL (m):mid 30s – mid 40s. ROB’s conservative, well-read, well-dressed, disciplined college roommate. ANAs’ former boyfriend. History buff. Unmarried.

JENNIFER McCLINTOCK (w): mid 30s – mid 40s. ANAs’ friend. Pretty. Shy. Smart. Tends to burst out with awkward truthful comments. Despite some lack of self-confidence, she is the grounding center of the group. Unorganized and oblivious to her own attractiveness. Unmarried.

LILY LOUISE JACKSON (w): Black, 20s. A go-getter. Former debate captain who is on the cusp of al current trends and yet can still put her foot in her mouth in social occasions. Laughs at appropriate and inappropriate times. A great lover of books and ANAs’ protégée at the paper.

ALEX (m): mid 30s – mid 40s. The new guy. A very smart, well-read academic who has lost his moorings and is searching for real connections. Professor of comparative literature.

PUNDIT: any age – Either male or female playing the following 5 roles:
SAM, Wal-Mart guy
FRANK, Secret Service agent
ELSA, jaded literary agent
MRS. SIMPSON, skydiver
CARL, inmate book dealer

Casting Note (from the script): ALEX can be cast in any race or ethnicity. LILY must be black. ANA, JEN, WILL and ROB can be any race and ethnicity except black

For auditions, please prepare the following:

* Schedule an appointment 

* Bring a current head shot and resume  

* Be prepared for cold readings from the script

* Fill out an audition form that will be provided at the door

Please be able to list all conflicts between August 4 & opening night.
